The Brooklyn Bridge is getting a long overdue makeover. The work is happening for the most part without much traffic interruption, but there is a lot of shielding and crazy garbage chutes like these. The last restoration of the bridge was also covered by another Lopate in the intro to this photo book Bridge of Dreams Also,be sure to notice the progress on the Freedom Tower on the left side.
