Long gone are the days when sailors came to Times Square looking for sex and alcohol. Now a cold frappuccino and a jelly green beach chair in the street will do. Over Memorial day weekend the city started a trial run of a more pedestrian friendly Time Square with partial closure of Broadway at Times Square. I just happened to be passing through and checked out the scene. It's definitely a work in progress, but from what I could see people were really enjoying themselves.
