One morning while passing this questionably-oversized Brownstone addition on my block I overheard a well dressed New York City Department of Buildings inspector tell the sketchy looking contractor that his site had been reported as unsafe. I'm not positive he was trying to bribe him but he kept repeating, "I can't it's on recorded from the 311 call in the area". (311 is a local government number in NYC to get government information or report problems- like unsafe construction sites or as one friend tells it, "to report if your neighbor's dog is shitting in your yard") At least the Concrete block piled precariously high in the front garden made for a nice backdrop for this photo.
