Last weekend I went underground with my "little" friends Rohin and Lucas for a tour of the lost subway tunnel in Brooklyn. It was originally built in 1844 and after years of misuse and political corruption it was sealed off from view and literally disappeared from the the city's collective memory. The tour is led by the man who actually re-discovered it back in the 1970's after extensive research and a little luck digging in some dirt below Atlantic Avenue. The tour was highly entertaining with a mix of bizarre tunnel history and his own adventures of finding this buried treasure. Also on the tour was a reporter from WNYC who made an audio recording of the actual tour we were on. You can listen to short part of it here WNYC
