We stopped at this little gas station somewhere off the New Jersey Turnpike halfway between Baltimore and New York City. In case you can't read the sign outside the not-so-cleanly unisex bathroom it says,”If even happy things leave you blue, participate in our research study for DEPRESSION." Talk about direct marketing.

Taken at the Monterey Aquarium; a former Sardine Factory. These Sardines don't know now lucky they are to be swimming laps in this nice big tank without fear of being scooped up, cooked, canned, and eaten.

It's not an exaggeration to say this is a typical view of anywhere along the Big Sur coast. With views like this on our marathon route it made running the 26.2 miles seem like only... 25 miles! I will post more photos from the trip in the coming weeks.
