Last Sunday was the 2nd annual New York City Half Marathon, a big international event that runs through the streets of Manhattan, from Central Park to Battery Park. I watched from Times Square as Haile Gebrselassie totally dominated the race, winning in a record time 59:24 (the 7th fastest 1/2 marathon time in history). He was chased by some of the world's best runners like world marathon series leader Robert "Bang Your Head" Cheruiyot, and American superstars Alan Culpepper, and Peter Gilmore
